Clays should fit snug, even tight at first as they will stretch. They will “break in” and take the shape of your feet within days to a few weeks depending on frequency of wear.

United StatesAmazing quality, it didn’t work for me to stand on the stitching
Super soft leather, really lovely and well-made shoe. I usually wear a womens US 9.5 or EU 40 for a shoe that I won’t wear socks. My feet are 10cm wide, and around 25.5cm long, and high volume, narrow heel. These in size 10 were too short - my toes were tapping the inside of them. They fit in width and volume perfectly. I considered sizing up, but conceded an 11 would be too big if the leather stretches. I also have sensitive skin and it was too much texture for me to be standing on top of the lacing inside the footbed. I could wear socks or add insole but wondered if that could interrupt the grounding feature. Definitely would try these again in the future if the stitching issue changed! It was easy to return them.
